Attendance at the Mark Benevolent Fund (MBF) 2024 Grand Review

On Tuesday 11th March Sam Hardy (Access Digital Tameside and Digital Link Project Lead) and Julia Norton (Operations Manager) attended the MBF Grand Review at the Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, London, followed by dinner at the Grand Connaught Rooms.

The invitation to attend the event came following a successful application to the MBF for a grant to enable us to purchase new IT equipment for the staff team and devices to use at our digital training support groups.

The Mark Benevolent Fund is a registered charity (no. 207610) which was founded by Reverend George Raymond Portal in 1868. The Fund has disbursed many millions to individual petitioners and an even greater sum in grants to charities within the wider community. Since the charity’s sesquicentenary in 2018, grants averaging over £1.3 million a year have been disbursed.

Not your typical day at work!

The Grand Review is a celebration of the MBF and an annual opportunity for Mark Master Masons to welcome charity representatives to the Freemasons’ Hall. In 2024 the MBF distributed 72 grants, totalling £2,155,495.

For Sam and Julia, the day was an amazing opportunity to express our thanks to the MBF for their support, understand more about the Fund and its work and meet other charity representatives.
