Volunteering

PCrefurb welcomes volunteers to support all aspects of our work and activities.

Refurbishing IT Equipment

PCrefurb holds two workshops on Wednesdays at The Bureau in Glossop.

Working together we have a broad base of skills and abilities that allow the group to refurbish and recycle donated IT equipment and learn new IT related skills from each other.

Some of our participants have complex needs and we ensure everyone is fully included in a safe and welcoming environment. This encourages everyone to work cooperatively, to share their knowledge and improve their communications skills and prospects.

Digital Champions

Digital Training Group

We welcome volunteers to help with our basic digital skills training projects.

Digital Champions work with digitally excluded people to help them access the online world. You don’t have to be an expert, but if you can confidently use a smartphone, tablet or laptop and could spare a couple of hours a week, do get in touch. Full training will be provided.

Our capacity to take on new Digital Champions depends on our current projects.

Volunteer Drivers

PCrefurb relies on volunteers to deliver and collect I.T. equipment to and from individuals, organisations and businesses within Tameside and the High Peak.

The time commitment can be as great or little as each volunteer prefers. They can also specify which areas they would prefer to travel to.

Volunteer drivers are asked to sign a Participation Agreement and inform their car insurers of their volunteering role. Mileage expenses can be claimed.
