The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the necessity to access the internet for day to day activities and social contact and PCrefurb saw a massive increase in demand for refurbished IT equipment. In 2021 to date (18/11/21) we have received over 300 referrals. These come from 123 different referrers working in organisations and agencies across the High Peak and Tameside that support the most vulnerable and marginalised in our community.
Here are five ways you can help us fulfil our aim of ‘bridging the digital divide’.
1. Donate cash
We have a donate button on our website.
£15 would buy three USB WiFi adapters.
£20 would buy a replacement battery for a laptop.

2. Become a volunteer driver
PCrefurb relies on volunteer drivers delivering I.T. devices to clients and collecting donations from individuals and businesses. If you have a few hours to spare each month (no minimum amount is expected) and would like to help, please email Julia via admin@pcrefurb.org.uk for more information.

3. Donate IT equipment
If you have recently upgraded your laptop or home computer; or your company has upgraded its I.T. provision, please consider donating your used equipment to PCrefurb for refurbishment. More information about what we need can be found on our website.

4. Donate while you shop online
Start your online shopping via Easyfundraising or Amazon Smile and select PCrefurb as your chosen cause.

5. Become a Digital Champion
If you would like to help digitally excluded people access the online world visit our website for more information about volunteering as a Digital Champion.
